PEP GUARDIOLA has played down Manchester Citys Champions League favourites tag.
The Premier League champions are odds-on to lift Europes biggest prize this season after smashing the record books last term.
City have a vast array of talent in their squad, allowing Guardiola to field multiple formations with varying options.
But the two-times winner with Barcelona reckons there are plenty of other sides who will challenge City every step of the way.
Guardiola said: Well have to be really good if they say [we are favourites]. I dont know if were ready, we dont have a history behind us.
Im taking about clubs and fans. As a club, our greatest success has been a semi-final.
Milan, who will soon be back in the Champions League, knows what it means to win in this competition.
The favourites are the teams that have history and tradition: Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus, which is closer each time and has now also bought Cristiano Ronaldo.
