PSG star Kylian Mbappe slated with 3/10 rating after 2-2 draw against Napoli

Kylian Mbappe had a night to forget against Napoli in the 2-2 draw

KYLIAN MBAPPE was slated with a 3/10 rating for his dismal performance against Napoli.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker was a no-show in the thrilling 2-2 draw.

Only a moment of Angel Di Maria magic saved Thomas Tuchel's side, with the Argentina star curling in a stunning effort in the 93rd minute.

Mbappe had just one shot on target from three attempts and was successful with only four of eight dribbles.

As such, Mbappe, 19, was given a lowly three rating from respected French newspaper L'Equipe.

Dries Mertens looked to have given the Serie A side all three points with his 77th-minute goal.

That left PSG staring down the barrel of a group-stage exit before Di Maria stepped up to the plate.

Lorenzo Insigne struck first in the 29th minute for the Italians, only for PSG to draw level through a Mario Rui own goal in the 61st minute.

And Mbappe was not the only one to suffer a torrid time at the Parc des Princes.

A furious Neymar stormed off the pitch, refused to shake hands with anyone and kicked a plastic object over at full-time.

The Brazilian superstar hobbled off the pitch in just the second minute when team-mate Edinson Cavani clattered into him just as he was about to shoot.

PSG won their first ten league games while averaging nearly four goals per game to sit top of Ligue 1.

But they cannot replicate that form in Europe, losing 3-2 to Liverpool in the first round of group fixtures.

Liverpool hammered Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the night's other match to lead Group C on six points.

Is Neymar heading back to Barcelona in 193million move from PSG?

Napoli are second on five points and PSG third with four.

After failing to get past the Round of 16 in the past two seasons, another early elimination could be looming unless PSG improve.

For Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, it was an enjoyable moment against his former club.

Spurs Uefa Cup hero Parks backs Lloris to shine against Man City in Europe

Stream The Goldfinch 2019 Online free

Spurs icon Tony Parks has come to the defence of World Cup winner Hugo Lloris

TONY PARKS repaid his managers trust by becoming a Tottenham legend.

And the man who helped bring Hugo Lloris to White Hart Lane expects the Frenchman to do the same for Mauricio Pochettino after his mistake against Liverpool.

Tuesday nights Champions League game against Manchester City will be the biggest European night in Tottenham for 35 years.

But if outgoing Tottenham boss Keith Burkinshaw had listened to the critics back in 1984, he might have dropped goalkeeper Parks for the Uefa Cup final second leg against Anderlecht.

And if he had, Spurs might have missed out on one of the most famous nights in their history.

Parks, now 56, said: Im told the manager was put under pressure by the hierarchy of the club to replace me with Ray Clemence.

He was brave in his decision and adamant he wasnt going to do that.

Keith knew he was leaving so maybe that was one of the reasons he was strong enough.

Parks, back in the side after Clemences second injury of the season, had almost cost Spurs a final place with some poor handling in the second leg of the semi-final against Hajduk Split.

He still argues with defender Paul Miller about whether he was at fault for the Anderlecht goal in the first leg of the final.

LLOR AND ORDER

But there is no denying Parks proved the doubters wrong by saving two penalties in a shootout to earn Spurs their third and last European trophy.

And he has no time for anyone calling for Lloris to be dropped after his role in Toby Alderweirelds last-minute own goal against Liverpool.

Parks said: If you go back through history, you will see Ray Clemence, Peter Shilton, Gordon Banks, Lev Yashin, all greats, have made mistakes.

Because they are so few and far between, they get lost in the legend.

Hugo will be like that. He makes far more saves and does more good.

Hes a front foot, very aggressive goalkeeper in terms of dealing with the space between him and the back four. He suits the way Tottenham play perfectly. He was a pleasure to work with.

Parks was goalkeeping coach at Tottenham from 2008 to 2014 and played a key role in the 8million signing of Lloris from Lyon in 2012.

He suits the way Tottenham play perfectly. He was a pleasure to work with.

Tony Parks

He had spent seven years working with Englands youth teams and had first seen Lloris playing for Frances Under-17s.

He said: I watched his career progress and when I got the opportunity to bring him to Tottenham it was a no-brainer because I had already done research on him.

The key quality Parks saw, and still sees, in Lloris was the one he himself lacked mental strength.

He said: The best goalkeepers are the best between their ears. They have the strongest character.

They have that resilience to mistakes. They can compartmentalise them very quickly and push them to the back of their mind.

The likes of Ray Clemence and Hugo Lloris, they are a cut above.

Parks, by his own admission, was not, and the downward spiral started soon after that amazing night.

Eriksen and Trippier 'top list of 12 players Spurs will consider selling this summer' in squad overhaul

He said: I started living life off the football pitch, rather than living life for ON the pitch.

My lifestyle wasnt good. I lost my place. Then I was blaming everyone else, which is never a good idea.

Theres only one person to look at. I never had it between my ears to be a top pro.

After spells at Norwich, Aston Villa and Watford he is now head coach at Evolution Goalkeeper Coaching. His second stint at Spurs ended in 2014 when Pochettino arrived with his own team.

But he will be willing them to more Euro glory on Tuesday.

Parks added: Man City probably wish it was still at Wembley. Its a tougher game for them now.

White Hart Lane was great when it was rocking and European nights were always special. Im pretty sure the Tottenham supporters will make the new stadium just as hot.

The picture came with the caption "Aquaman", in reference to the DC Comics character, with the Danish international known for his self-confidence.

Bendtner is enjoying a career revival in Norway, after failing to live up to his own lofty ambitions in England.

The former Birmingham, Sunderland and Juventus forward previously declared that he wanted to be the best striker in the world, a claim that has haunted him throughout his career.

But his latest photo opportunity shows he's still got the physique as he continues to impress at Rosenborg.

The Danish international will need to be a superhero on Wednesday as the Trondheim outfit look to overturn a two-goal deficit against Celtic.

Bendtner started the first leg against the Scottish champions at Parkhead and set up Birger Meling for the opening goal.

But it was not enough as the Bhoys fought back to run out 3-1 winners ahead of the return fixture in the second qualifying round in Trondheim.

The winner will take on Greek outfit AEK Athens in the next round.

Man Utd charge Barcelona fans 102 for Champions League ticket and promise to subsidise their fans for trip to Nou Camp

Man Utd have revealed away ticket prices for their Champions League clash with Barcelona

MANCHESTER UNITED have promised to subsidise fans for their trip to Barcelona after tickets were put on sale at 102 each.

The Red Devils revealed their Spanish counterparts would be charging the extraordinary price for the second-leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.

United claim they will therefore also charge Barca fans 102 a ticket when they visit Old Trafford for the first leg.

And that extra money will go towards subsidising 27 for each of the 4,610 tickets on sale for United fans at Camp Nou.

A statement read: We believe our travelling supporters are again being subjected to increased/excessive ticket prices from the host club.

Similarly to Valencia in the group stages and Sevilla last season, we have taken the difficult decision to charge Barcelona fans for the home leg at Old Trafford the same amount Barcelona are charging for the away fixture.

We will use the additional revenue gained from this to subsidise our travelling support by paying the 27 price difference for each of our travelling supporters.

Meanwhile, United fans are worried that Paul Pogba could be heading to Real Madrid after he expressed his admiration for the Spanish giants.

Pogba said: Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. Its one of the biggest clubs in the world.

There is also Zinedine Zidane as coach and its a dream for anybody who likes football. We dont know what the future holds.

The Red Bull Salzburg starlet has thrived in temporary spells with their fellow Austrians SC Rheindorf Altach and now Swiss side Basel.

Cameroon-born Oberlin, 20, has hit six goals in all during his 15 games for Basel.

And calciomercato.com say Serie A champions Juvehave jumped into the queue of his admirers.

United, though, are thought to have been snubbed by Oberlin when he was just 17.

He claimed he did not want to battle in the ranks alongside so many other talented youngsters at Old Trafford.

So instead he left FC Zurich for Salzburg.

Oberlin said at the time: "The transfer almost happened.

"In the end I decided otherwise. My parents had allowed me to transfer, but I did not.

"I would have started at the Under-18s, the way into the first team would have been far.

"The competition would have been massive."

Juventus are also favourites to sign Liverpool's Germany midfielder Emre Can, although Manchester City are now thought to be in the running too.

Real, meanwhile, have been beset by talk of their players prioritising next summer's World Cup finals in preference to reviving the wobbling European champions.

Zinedine Zidane's men lie 11 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Main man Cristiano Ronaldo even responded to Real's3-1 Champions League loss away to Tottenham last week by insisting he did not want to renew his Bernabeu contract.

Paul Pogba BANNED from talking about Manchester Uniteds crisis after Jose Mourinho bust-up

Watch free The Goldfinch 2019 Online

Paul Pogba has been stripped of the vice captaincy at Manchester United and told he is NOT allowed to talk about the club's situation

PAUL POGBA has been BANNED from speaking out about the ongoing crisis at Manchester United.

The France midfielder, 25, was told not to talk publicly after the clubs run without a victory went to four games following the stalemate against Valencia.

Pog hit out at Jose Mourinhos tactics after failing to beat Wolves last month and was then stripped of the vice-captaincy.

United have also lost to Derby in the EFL Cup and West Ham in the Premier League since.

Pogba, when asked to talk about the latest match without a win, said: "Im not allowed to."

Before the match, Mourinho took aim at Paul Pogba for caring about the name on his shirt more than his team and told players not to lose dignity.

The Manchester United boss, writing in his programme notes, launched a thinly veiled attack on Pogba after his vice-captain dismissal.

And the under-fire Portuguese coach underlined claims some care more than others at the club by saying his team must do the basics of fighting on the pitch.

He wrote: "All of my life, I have followed certain golden rules. One of them is that a team can lose matches that is just part of football but the team must never, ever lose its dignity.

"The team must fight, work, compete, win duels, be humble, and then at the end of the game every player must be exhausted because of the hard work they have given for the club, for the fans and for each other.

Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba ignore each other in the Manchester United tunnel ahead of Valencia Champions League tie

"That leads to another pair of golden rules which must be followed: the team is always more important than the individual, and the crest on the chest is more important than the name on the back of the shirt.

"This is me. This is how I work. This is what I ask of my team, my group, my club."

Mourinhos comments on the team being more important than the individual appear to be a dig at social-media star Pogba.

After returning from Russia as a World Cup-winner, Pogba has criticised Mourinho for not attacking more.

The 25-year-old has been unsettled since last season when he was dropped for the Champions League clash against Sevilla, which was Uniteds biggest game of the season at the time.

He is prepared to leave Old Trafford for a second time if Jose doesn't go first, with PSG ready to take him back to France.

Karim Benzema scored as Real Madrid beat Viktoria Plzen 2-1

REAL MADRID beat Viktoria Plzen 2-1 in the group stage of the Champions League on Tuesday in a narrow victory that did little to ease the pressure on embattled coach Julen Lopetegui.

Karim Benzema and Marcelo scored a goal in each half for Madrid as the three-time defending European champions ended a five-match winless streak in all competitions, but Lopetegui's team struggled at times at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The new coach will have another chance to quieten his critics maybe his last in the "clasico" against Barcelona at Camp Nou Stadium in the Spanish league on Sunday.

Madrid has six points in Group G after three matches. Roma, which defeated CSKA Moscow 3-0 at home in the other group match, also has six points.

Madrid had lost four of its last five matches, including a 1-0 defeat at CSKA Moscow.

Benzema opened the scoring with an 11th-minute header and Marcelo added to the lead from inside the area in the 55th after a neat back-heel pass by Gareth Bale.

The visitors, who had some good scoring chances in the first half, pulled one closer with a 79th-minute goal by Patrik Hrosovsky.

Meanwhile, reports claim Real have made contact with former boss Jose Mourinho.

The Special One is seen as the man to change their fortunes, with Lopetegui's job still on the line despite tonight's result.

However, Mourinho has insisted he wants to see out his Manchester United contract, which expires in 2020, and even has plans to remain beyond that date.

Tearful Poch said goodbye in an emotional press conference before hanging up his boots - although he insists the duo have buried the hatchet.

The Spurs chief, 46, said: That day, it was difficult to understand his position but I talked to him in pre-season, when we played Barcelona in Los Angeles, and I completely understand.

He arrived at Espanyol at not a good time for me. I could not see it at the time but I can now.

The three reasons Man Uniteds controversial penalty against PSG was rightly awarded

Free Movie Streaming Sites

Referee Damir Skomina made the decision of his own accord to award Manchester United a penalty

MANCHESTER Uniteds controversial penalty winner at PSG was rightly awarded - according to the guidelines from the Uefa referees' chief.

Slovakian official Damir Skomina initially awarded a corner kick when Presnel Kimpembe blocked Diogo Dalots late shot.

Dalot appealed for a spot-kick, although hardly with any vehemence and United were ready to take the corner.

Instead, Skomina was then informed by Italian VAR Massimiliano Irruti that he had missed a potential penalty offence.

It was then down to Skomina to view the incident himself on the pitch-side monitor to confirm the view of the VAR.

But Uefa refs chief, former Italian whistler Roberto Rossetti, outlined the criteria at a briefing in Rome last month.

This was the incident that PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe wont be forgetting for some timeCredit: AFP
Marcus Rashford made no mistake and hammered home what was the winning goalCredit: AFP

Asked when VAR officials would be expected to intervene over alleged handball decisions in the box, Rossetti explained: There are three things that we start with.

The first is whether there is movement of the hand towards the ball.

Then there is the distance between the players. And finally the position of the hand or arm.

If the VAR sees a clear movement towards the ball, clear movement, there is a need to intervene.

And if we see a clear unnatural position, 100 per cent, and the player making his body bigger to block the ball, we need to intervene.

Kimpembes body posture as he turned to block Dalots late shot was exactly the type of making his body bigger incident Rossetti highlighted with a series of video clips.

He added: If a player blocks with his arm clear of the body, it IS a penalty.

The same presentation was also given to Champions League broadcasters and at the workshop in Switzerland that only five of the 16 surviving managers attended.

Ironically, one of those who did go was PSG boss Thomas Tuchel but a frustrated Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin pointed out: That was a lack of respect for Roberto Rosetti.

We want, always, the referee at the centre of the decision-making process

The influence of managers is huge and if they complain about referees they should at least come see what the experts say about VAR.

So no, they have no excuses any more - especially the ones who did not come.

The key was that it was Skomina, not the VAR man, who took the final call.

Rossetti added last month: We want, always, the referee at the centre of the decision-making process.

Then, when VAR has clear video image evidence, he can intervene. Only in case of clear evidence that something is wrong, a clear mistake.

For interpretations, we want the referee to go out of the field of play and watch with his own eyes on the screen.

Then the referee will take the final decision. We believe the referee must do that.

Why? Because the referee has to take responsibility, continue the match and explain to the players what he has seen.

He didn't care how it happened, all Marcus Rashford wanted to do was be the hero on the night for his clubCredit: Getty

It cant be someone in another place, who cant be seen. The referee has to be at the centre.

This season, backed by PGMOL boss Mike Riley, Prem refs have ignored the World Cup protocols on handball.

And they will do again next season.

Riley and his officials believe that there needs to be more sustained and evident intent for a spot kick to be avoided and in a situation where Kimpembe turned his back on the ball, would normally rule that could not be said to be the case.

It means that, were a similar incident to take place in the Prem - or even in a VAR-available FA Cup tie - it would NOT be deemed a spot kick.

The International FA Board agreed new handball Laws, to come into effect in June, in Aberdeen last week.

That stated that if the ball struck an arm or hands raised above the shoulder, it would always be deemed a handball offence.

And should a player place his arms outside the natural silhouette of his body, he will run the risk of a spot-kick being awarded.

However, the final decision remains the preserve of the referee, with Riley and PGMOL sticking with their softer interpretation of what makes a handball.

Goals from Isco, Gareth Bale and Mariano gave the La Liga giants the perfect start to their European campaign.

And now Ramos has overtaken Manchester United legend Paul Scholes's record of 35 yellow cards, which has stood since the midfielder's retirement in 2013.

Ramos' style of defending has made him somewhat of an unpopular figure in England, particularly with Liverpool fans.

The defender outraged Reds fans far and wide for his challenge on Mohamed Salahin last seasons Champions League final - which resulted in the Egyptian suffering a dislocated shoulder.

However, Ramos has been a central figure to his club and country's success for a large period of time - with Real gunning for a fourth Champions League in a row this season.

Madrid fans will be unconcerned about Ramos' latest feat, considering how impressive the performances have been from the whole squad since Julen Lopetegui's arrival as head coach.

They remain unbeaten under Lopetegui - with four wins out of five in all competitions.

Goals from Juan Bernat and Kylian Mpbappe put the French side ahead before James Milner pulled one back from the penalty spot.

Furious Klopp, who believes Neymar kept trying to win free-kicks, said: "It was clever of PSG, Neymar especially him but a lot of players went down as if it was really serious.

"You act like you die and the next moment you get up. It could be a yellow card. You could do that. Everybody's going down, it's not football anymore

"But I don't want to say 'Paris didn't deserve it.' We were not calm enough ... Our decision making was not good enough.

We scored once and then it was clear they would struggle as they couldnt have that intensity in the second half. We tried everything.

A little hurdle was the 500,000 interruptions in the second half and the referee still thinks he did everything right. We are the fairest team in England but tonight we looked like butchers. They were always down and it looked like we used elbows. It was smart if you want, the ref let that happen.

You can lose in Paris, but it still feels a bit rubbish and we have to use Anfield one more time. We are calling Anfield right now.

Midfielder Jordan Henderson, suspended for Sundays derby with Everton, said: I am disappointed because we feel were good enough to come here and win. It wasnt our night but we kept going until the end.

It gave us a boost to get the goal before half-time but we kept going and fighting and now weve got to keep it in our own hands by winning at Anfield.

We didnt start well and they started quickly so that disappointing. If you dont start at 100 per cent, you get punished in the Champions League.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said: It was important to show we could fight against Liverpool. We defended incredibly well.

LIVERPOOL must do exactly what they did against Olympiakos in 2004 when they take on Napoli at Anfield in two weeks.

TheReds' 2-1 defeat at PSGmeans they are in serious danger ofgoing out on head-to-head recordand must now win either 1-0, or by two clear goals to progress.

Lorenzo Insigne's last gasp winner in Naples against Jurgen Klopp's mencould end up being crucial with away goals taken into account should two or more teams end up level on points.

But click here to find out why it is not such a daunting task for the Reds.

Lionel Messi broke a bone in his right arm during Barcelona's win against Sevilla

BARCELONA have included Lionel Messi in their Champions League squad to face Inter Milan - despite the forward not being given the "medical all clear".

The 31-year-old broke his right arm little over two weeks ago during the 4-2 win against Sevilla on October 20, but could still feature against the Serie A side on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old recently returned to training just ten days after picking up the injurydespite initial fears he would miss three weeks of the campaign.

And Ernesto Valverde has selected him in his squad to face the Italians at the San Siro as Barca look to rack up their fourth win of Group B.

Messi's name was marked with an asterisk in the team list, with the Catalan club stating: "The player travels without the medical all clear."

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been in fine form this season, netting 12 goals in as many games in all competitions - including five in the Champions League.

Barca have continued to impress in Messi's absence, notably beating Real Madrid 5-1 in El Clasico last week.

It has been reported that Manchester City were ready to sign Messi last season in a whopping 663million deal.

While Barcelona are looking at both David Luiz and Laurent Koscielny in the winter transfer window.

Valverde is desperate to bolster his backline with Samuel Umtiti currently injured.

Suarez vows NOT to celebrate if he scores at Anfield unlike what Barcelona striker did after goal against Liverpool in Nou Camp

Luis Suarez is preparing to face Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League semi-final second leg

BARCELONA striker Luis Suarez has vowed not to celebrate against Liverpool as he prepares to play at Anfield for the first time since leaving in 2014.

The 32-year-old failed to contain his emotions last week at the Nou Camp after breaking the deadlock against the Reds in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

Barca eventually beat Jurgen Klopp's side 3-0 thanks to Lionel Messi' double - including a stunning free-kick from the Argentinian that brought up 600 goals for the Blaugrana.

And should Suarez get on the score sheet to send his side into the final on June 1, the Uruguayan international insisted he will not celebrate in the same vigour.

Speaking ahead of the clash in Merseyside, he said: "Celebrating the goal? Everyone who football knows the importance of the goal I scored last week.

"I have all the respect in the world for Liverpool's fans. Im very thankful to them. If I score a goal here, I wont celebrate it in the same way.

"I say sorry (if anyone was offended) but the Liverpool fans would applaud me. I am very thankful to Liverpool to the fans and the club and it is clear if I score a goal against Liverpool I won't celebrate it.

"I am thankful for Liverpool. I think I was here for three and a half years and the team had been four or five years without being in the Champions League."

Before adding: "I think there will be more applause than whistles and I think if people want to whistle and that makes them happy there may be quite a few who are not happy but I think there will be more who are happy and grateful."

Fans weren't too bothered by his statement, as one tweeted: "Literally no proper Liverpool fan is a**** he celebrated, why is still being peddled?"

Another commented: "He can celebrate however he likes. small-time to think otherwise."

One said: "If it was the other way around and Liverpool signed him from Barca and he scores in a semi, I'd expect him to celebrate."

Reds fans are sweating on the fitness of Virgil van Dijk after the defender missed training today, with Klopp already without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

MANCHESTER UNITED have prepared for tonight's big match with Paris Saint-Germain with a lunchtime stroll around Old Trafford cricket ground.

And the squad looked in relaxed mood as they went for a gentle wander around the cricket ground today.

United have been staying in the hotel on the site just a mile up the road from their own Old Trafford stadium in the build-up to the match.

And they took advantage of the tranquil setting to stretch their limbs as they wound down the hours before kick-off this evening.

United know they may not get a better chance to see off the big-spenders of world football given the injury problems that have hit PSG.

They were already missing superstar Neymar with a broken bone in his foot - but last weekend they were hit with two more fitness worries.

Fellow forward Edinson Cavani suffered a thigh tear which rules him out of this match and threatens to see him miss the return leg next month as well.

Boss Thomas Tuchel has also lost Thomas Meunier at right-back after he suffered concussion in the weekend win at home to Bordeaux.

That has left PSG with the prospect of having to play with only one up front and draft in the veteran Dani Alves into their side against in-form United.

Solskjaer's only problems are over who to start and who to leave out - with all his players fit and in form.

Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku were spotted in conversation during their walk today, but the likelihood is both will be on the bench at kick-off.

United are likely to recall Marcus Rashford to the role as central striker, while Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard will provide support.

Barcelona fans shout at Lionel Messi as he goes through airport security

FURIOUS Barcelona fans shouted at Lionel Messi at Liverpool airport after the club's embarrassing Champions League demolition at Anfield.

Footage shows raging supporters, who travelled almost 900 miles to support their team in the semi-final second-leg on Tuesday, hurling abuse at the Argentine superstar while he goes through security at midnight.

Swear words can be heard in Spanish but Messi, 31, does not react in the clip.

However, it is claimed he squared up to Barca fans at the airport after suffering abuse following his side's 4-0 loss.

Mundo Deportivo report that the Barca star got into the altercation with confronting supporters just hours after crashing out of the tournament.

The report states that Messi "faced them" before being dragged away by his personal security guard and manager Pepe Costa, to avoid a more serious situation.

Another set of fans close by are said to have applauded him as he passed through security.

Messi missed the Barcelona team coach after the defeat to undergo anti-doping tests at Anfield.

He and Costa arrived separately from the rest of the squad.

Barcelona suffered one of the worst defeats in their history as they blew a 3-0 first-leg lead and saw Jurgen Klopp's side storm into the final.

The Spanish press dubbed the defeat the "biggest embarrassment in history", with Marca describing the loss as an "historic failure" and AS labelling it a "bloodbath".

After the stunning defeat, Barcelona wasted little time in making their departure from Anfield.

But they left Messi behind, after he had been summoned by Uefa officials to provide a urine sample.

MESSI TAMED

Messi cut a lonely figure as he trudged past the mixed zone, with all his team-mates waiting at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner had little influence on the game, as Jurgen Klopp set up the perfect game-plan for his team to dominate from start to finish.

Messi's strike partner Luis Suarez slammed his team's defending.

The former Liverpool hero said: "For their fourth goal we looked like schoolboys, we have to be ready for all the criticism that is going to rain down on us now.

"We are very sad, we are in a lot of pain, we feel this pain even though we are professionals.

"We have to do a lot of self criticism because this is the second time that the same thing has happened to us.

"We cannot commit the same mistake two years in a row, there are many things we need to consider and think about.

"They (Liverpool) did what they wanted to do, which was to score early. They believed from the first minute to the last.

"I do not know if it's a matter of attitude, but we're in Barcelona, we can not get two goals in a row. The fourth is a goal by kids."

England greats Lineker and Ferdinand reacted in shock to the second amazing comeback in as many nights after Liverpool achieved the impossible against Barcelona.

But Hoddle, 61, could only stand and stare in utter disbelief at Mauricio Pochettino's side's heroics.

And that prompted Ferdinand to jokingly put his hand on Hoddle's chest and ask "Are you OK? Are you all right?"

Ferdinand posted the clip on his Instagram page with the caption: "Glenn, are you OK... are you OK."

And fellow Three Lions legend Ian Wright replied: "Ri! You meant to be looking after the Gaffer."

Homeland star Damian Lewis tweeted: "Can't stop laughing at this. Glenn Hoddle looks like he's falling off a ladder."

Hoddle told SunSport how he died for 60 seconds during his cardiac arrest, which occurred on his 61st birthday.

He smashed his head on the floor when he collapsed and broke seven ribs.

But last night he spoke of how grateful and fortunate he felt to witness another unforgettable night of football.

He said: "I'm so glad I'm still around to see this. I've been a Tottenham fan since I was eight years old."

Hoddle jokingly touched his chest again after Spurs' win over Man City in the Champions League quarter-finals.

We are Liverpool, we can fight and we can go for the big things.

Real managerZinedine Zidane:Today and tomorrow will never happen again; we will live other experiences but never this, so we have to make the most of it.

City have a vast array of talent in their squad, allowing Guardiola to field multiple formations with varying options.

But the two-times winner with Barcelona reckons there are plenty of other sides who will challenge City every step of the way.

Guardiola said: Well have to be really good if they say [we are favourites]. I dont know if were ready, we dont have a history behind us.

Im taking about clubs and fans. As a club, our greatest success has been a semi-final.

Milan, who will soon be back in the Champions League, knows what it means to win in this competition.

The favourites are the teams that have history and tradition: Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus, which is closer each time and has now also bought Cristiano Ronaldo.

Then theres Atletico who plays at home and then therell be others; I hope we can be there.

Football in England is very good. Germany likes football a lot, but during the week there is a lot more. You arent always taking about the sport. In Latin countries it is undoubtedly different. When you travel you realise the cultural differences.

Griezmann picks dream 5-a-side team including Kante, Beckham and Barcelona bad boy Dembele

Antoine Griezmann picked his dream 5-a-side team from team-mates and one footballing legend

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN has played with some pretty decent players in his time, it's fair to say.

Now he has picked his dream 5-a-side team from team-mates and one footballing legend, backing them to stay undefeated despite two notable absentees.

The Atletico Madrid star, 27, opted to go WITHOUT a goalkeeper in his all-star team.

Speaking to Oh My Goal, Griezmann talked through his side: "I'd go with Ousmane Dembele and I would say NG, N'Golo Kante, because you never lose when he's on your team.

"I would take Godin because he always finds a way to cheat and win!

That means there is no place for France team-mate Kylian Mbappe in the side.

However, when asked who the most skillful player is, Griezmann said either Mbappe or fellow Frenchman Dembele.

The Atleti star also said that Diego Costa is the best player he has played with.

He said: "I would have to say Diego Costa, for the support he gives me on the field.

There was no place for Kylian Mbappe in the team despite being one of the most skillful players in the worldCredit: AFP or licensors

"Because he allows me to play freely. He's a guy I really work well with on the pitch.

"We understand each other with a single look, we know where we're both at.

"On top of that he's a fighter and he brings that out in me, which I love. It's rare to have that with a team-mate."

Surprisingly, Griezmann said the best player he has faced on a football field is Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong.

The Dutchman will join Barcelona this summer, meaning Griezmann will go up against him once again.

But Griezmann said former Real Madrid defender Pepe was the toughest to play against.

Griezmann added: "I tried to put pressure on De Jong and never succeeded.

"Pepe is always breathing down your neck. He's always on top of you and he's a player who's very difficult to get past."

But the World Cup winner was very much sat on the fence when he was asked to settle the ongoing debate.

"Best player of all time? Well, you know... It depends on the era but I would say either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I never saw how Diego Maradona and Pele played. It's a tough question, everyone has their own style.

"There's also Zinedine Zidane. Zidane won the World Cup, Messi and Ronaldo never have."

Finally, Griezmann made a shock selection when asked to pick his best footballing memory.

Despite helping France win the World Cup last summer, he did not opt for that.

Instead, he said: "When we moved into the first division with Real Sociedad [2009/10].

"It was honestly the first time that my knees were shaking because it was my first year and the atmosphere was incredible. It was all new for me and it was intimidating."
