But an emotional October 23 return to Old Trafford could still be on the cards if Uefa decide not to extend his ban.
Ronaldo, 33, was reduced to tears after being sent off for an off-the-ball incident against Valencia on his return to Spain.
TV replays showed he appeared to grab the hair of defender Jeison Murillo after a slight coming together in the hosts' box.
The Valencia ace immediately squared up to Ronaldo before referee Felix Brych gave the ex-Real Madrid star his marching orders.

Ronaldo's one-match ban cannot be appealed and aUefa disciplinary panel will decide whether there should be any additional punishment.
Uefa regulations state: "A player who is sent off the field of play is suspended for the next match in a Uefa club competition.
"In case of serious offences, the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is entitled to augment this punishment, including by extending it to other competitions."
Juventus were able to leave the Mestalla with a 2-0 win thanks to two Miralem Pjanic penalties.
Despite the winning start, Ronaldo was left furious.
Team-mate Leonardo Bonucci said: "As far as I could see, it was a pretty normal clash.

"Murillo put his hands on Ronaldo first, he reacted, but these things can happen and we must be stronger than everyone and everything.
Ronaldo was angry, of course. The referee saw what he saw not very well and we overcame the obstacles."
Old Lady boss Max Allegri urged Uefa introduce VAR in order to get the best refereeing decisions.
He said: "I can only say that VAR wouldve helped the referee in this decision.

"Going down to ten men in the Champions League for an incident like that is disappointing.
We risked losing tonight with this and well miss him for the next games too.
Ronaldo's sister, meanwhile, leapt to the defence of her five-time Ballon d'Or winning brother.
Katia Aveiro posted a picture of Ronaldo, captioned: "Shame on football. Justice will be done. Want to destroy my brother. Shameful."
REAL MADRID return to the Bernabeu for the second leg of their Champions League clash in a commanding position.
Thanks to an inspired turn from Cristiano Ronaldo - and a red card for Paulo Dybala - Real Madrid scored THREE away goals in Turin last week.

Ronaldo's second will go down as one of the great goals in the competition's history, an outrageously athletic overhead kick that nestled in the top corner.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner took his tally in the competition to 14 for the season - and 119 all-time.
For Italian giants Juventus, they face a mountainous task... without their star man.
No team has ever overturned a 3-0 home defeat in the competition.

Loris Karius has turned down an invite from Liverpool to attend the Champions League final out of fear he will be a distraction, according to reports.
The flop goalkeeper of course played a major role in the final last year but for all the wrong reasons.

His errors against Real Madrid ruined Liverpools bid for the trophy and simultaneously destroyed his career.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp packed him off on a two-year loan to Besiktas with very few expecting the 25-year-old ever to represent the Reds again.
Despite that, Karius and Liverpools other players sent out on loan, were offered tickets by the club to attend Saturdays final against Tottenham.
However rather than turn up at Atletico Madrids Wanda Metropolitano he will instead go off on holiday.
The Daily Mail report that Liverpool and the coaching staff are supportive of his decision.
Kariuss call comes after his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla saw her car recently targeted by vandals, who wrote LOSER on the vehicle in huge spray painted letters.
Karius has cut a calamitous figure since last years final in Kiev when he gifted Real Madrid two goals in the 3-1 defeat.
First he dropped the ball at Karim Benzemas feet and then he dropped Gareth Bales shot over the line.
Something is wrong with his electricity, motivation, enthusiasm for the game.
Besiktas manager on Karius
At Besiktas, things havent got much better with Karius making a number of mistakes between the sticks.
Besiktas boss Senol Gunes recently laid into his No1 after a particularly jarring error cost his side three points.
Gunes said: "He was at fault for the goals he conceded. Karius has gone a bit stagnant, something is wrong with his electricity, motivation, enthusiasm for the game.
"It has been like that since the beginning. He does not really feel a part of the team.
"It's something we haven't been able to work out and, of course, I am partly to blame for this.
"Something is wrong, he has also been unlucky. [He] is talented but it hasn't worked out and we have a problem.
"Let me put it this way, if I still had [my other goalkeeper] Tolga available I would play him."
Its thought that the attack on his partners car is related to his persistent blunders.

His old man Jorge blames Florentino Perez for the exit - insisting the Real supremo made a big mistake.
He told: Cadena SER: "It hurt me the way he left Madrid.
"It's something that the president did.[Perez] probably didn't like him.
"I think they could have done a lot more things with [Karim] Benzema, Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Gonzalo together.
"When they formed that trio in Madrid, they were some of the best goal-scorers. Gonzalo could have stayed longer at Real Madrid."

"Journalism sometimes has the authority to hire and fire players or coaches, and they have not touched a ball in their lives, that's what bothers them [the journalists].
"Messi has also been criticised a lot. Argentina is a very nice country, but with the government and hospitals, there are injustices of all kinds nothing happens. A player fails and the world seems to end."
